History of Bitcoin [INFOGRAPHIC]
The history of Bitcoin told in a simple infographic has arrived. Rising from the wreckage of the subprime mortgage crisis in 2009, the mighty Bitcoin arrived on the crypto currency scene. With no central bank, a secure digital currency was invented just for the Internet. It’s creator, a mysterious character who goes by the name Satoshi Nakamoto, released the virtual currency on the world.
By October 2009, the exchange rate was first published at 1,3019.03 Bitcoin (BTC) per USD. Fast forward to 2013 and as recently as January, the currency only traded at $13. Around Thanksgiving it spiked to $1240 for a brief time. Today it has settled back down to the $700 range.
