With over 300 million active users and counting, it is vital that you have a great Instagram strategy for your business. Collectively they have posted over 30 billion photos and leave 2.5 billion likes each day. Instagram users are also 58 times more likely to like, comment on or share a brand’s post than on Facebook or Twitter. How’s that for engagement? Salesforce Canada just posted all the details. Armed with this information, you need to create a strategy now!
What to do now
First, set up your account so that your brand is instantly recognizable and always include a link back to your website. Post your best photos on a regular schedule, but don’t over do it. Include great descriptions and remember that if you use a url, users will need to copy and paste it into a browser in order for it to work. Use descriptive and industry appropriate hashtags to make your content more easily searchable.
Make sure that you engage with your followers too. Like their content, leave appropriate comments and offer then discount codes on your products and services. Follow new followers on a regular basis as well. Track how well your images perform and share more of the best ones. Also pay attention to your followers and identify the “super fans” and influencers alike.
A few more things to keep in mind
Mobile age demographics definitely skew younger with 30.6 percent or 18-24 year-olds and 29 percent of 25-34 year-olds accessing on smartphones. 50 percent of all Instagram users are also in the U.S. Optimize your content and target these folks.
